Winter has us in its grip, and it’s time to snuggle up on your sofa and read a book that takes you far away. How fortunate that I’ve just released my second mystery set in Florence, Italy. ;-) This one is called Charmer’s Death, and the cover matches the first in the series, Delayed Death. Do you prefer the blue or the turquoise shutters? I thought nothing can be better than blue, but I have to admit, I think I like the turquoise even more . . .

In this latest mystery, I’ve used nylons that don’t have runs (they do exist, you know!), but of course they are not meant to strangle people. When I wrote that book, I wanted to test if you can do it at all, and we discussed this one morning during breakfast. Not wishing to sacrifice my family, I wanted to use a teddy bear on a test run instead, but we couldn’t do it. It broke our hearts. So we ended up strangling a cushion, and it takes more strength than you’d think because the darn things stretch so much. This author career does create some pretty unusual breakfast topics! :-)

So, here’s the blurb:

What do you do when your best customer seduces your beautiful cousin? You try to save the situation, but it becomes a little harder than planned when he’s found strangled with a pair of brand new pantyhose that come straight from your own store Temptation – the most luxurious lingerie store in Florence, Italy.

Next, a disturbing diary crops up that lists the former lovers of the dead man, creating chaos in more than one home. Carlina has her hands full with managing her store at its peak season, preparing the Christmas fair, and dodging her mother, who has discovered fortune telling as the next big thing. Her feelings for the attractive Inspector Garini don’t help at all as she desperately tries to find the murderer before it’s too late.

At my blog, I have just put up a post that compares the ugliest covers we ex-Avalon authors ever had. You may know that we authors do not have much choice when it comes to covers. They are chosen by the publishing house, so you can imagine how we felt when we discovered those! If you leave a comment on our blog, you can win one of the five featured books (and I promise you, the content of the books is a lot more fun than you’d think, judging from the miserable covers!).

Have a happy weekend, and do reply!

I love to hear from you . . .
