I have so much to tell you! To keep it short and sweet, I think I’ll better put it down in easy snippets . . . so here we go:

My indie-romance A New Life (An Italian Romance) was chosen as a semi-finalist in the Best Indie Books of 2012 Contest. I’m quite proud of that :-).

A New Life also got a 4-star review from one of the top 50 reviewers at Amazon. He wrote “Beate Boeker specializes in short, romantic stories, always told with an insightful sense of self, a bit of deprecation, but in the end a woman triumphant. I love her heroines! And Boeker is so funny.”

My Avalon romance A Little Bit of Passion did even better – it was chosen twice (!) as a finalist – in The Golden Quill Contest and in the New Readers’ Choice Award.

Oh, and the biggest news of all – My publisher Avalon Books was sold to – hold your breath – Amazon! Since June, we “Avaloners” have to focus on Seattle instead of New York. We’re still getting used to the idea and are avidly waiting for the next steps.

. . . or maybe this is even better news – I’ve just uploaded a new novel! It’s a sweet winter romance set on Long Island. It has an adorable puppy, a drop-dead hero with rough edges, and a spunky heroine who’s a Vet. Stormy Times is now available on Amazon. This story was inspired by the dog with the funniest ears I have ever seen. I met it one day at the canal, on my way to work, and I almost fell off my bike, laughing – pointed ears with fluffy tufts of hair standing up. I HAD to put him into my next novel . . . My dear husband created the amazing cover.

I have moved. We stayed in the same town but have moved to a more modern apartment. We love it. For some reason, it feels like a holiday home, and sometimes, the traffic outside even sounds like the murmuring sea. ;-) The next big step was to buy a new sofa, and I really hope it’ll fit into our living room without dwarfing everything else in sight when it’ll finally be delivered.

I’m going on vacation! Next week, I’ll be at the Garda-lake in Italy, enjoying the sunshine and olive oil . . . Is anybody else in the area, so we can meet?

Write to me! Please. I want to have all your news and want to know how you’re doing. Isn’t e-mail a wonderful means to stay in touch?

Have a great summer!

Beate
